  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined Use fresh or properly thawed shrimp for best flavor.
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced Adjust according to your taste.
  • 1 cup heavy cream Can be substituted with coconut cream or dairy-free cream for a dairy-free option.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Taste the sauce before serving to adjust seasoning.
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped For garnish.

Preparation

  • Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.

Cooking

  • In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic, stirring often until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  • Increase the heat to medium-high. Add the shrimp to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set them aside.
  • In the same skillet, add the remaining butter and heavy cream. Stir until well combined and begins to thicken, about 3-5 minutes.
  • Return the shrimp to the skillet, stirring to coat in the creamy sauce. Let everything simmer together for another minute.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. When reheating, do so gently on the stovetop over low heat, adding a little more cream or broth if necessary. Consider adding spinach or sun-dried tomatoes for extra flavor and nutrition.
