Equipment

  • cast iron or nonstick skillet ensures good sear on shrimp
  • wooden spoon or spatula for tossing shrimp
  • knife and cutting board for mincing garlic
  • paper towels for patting shrimp dry
  • citrus juicer (optional) if adding lemon juice

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb large raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (or ghee)
  • 1 tbsp fresh garlic, minced (about 3 cloves)
  • 1 pinch chili flakes or smoked paprika (optional)
  • 0.5 lemon, juiced (optional)
  • fresh parsley or basil, for garnish (optional)
  • sea salt & black pepper, to taste

Instructions
 

  • If using frozen shrimp, thaw fully and pat dry. Mince garlic fresh for best flavor.
  • Heat olive oil in a nonstick or cast-iron skillet over medium heat until shimmering, about 1 minute.
  • Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds, stirring frequently to prevent burning.
  • Add shrimp and toss to coat. Cook 2–3 minutes per side, or until shrimp turn pink and form a 'C' shape.
  • Remove from heat. Add optional lemon juice, chili flakes, and herbs. Season with salt and pepper. Serve immediately.

Notes

Serve with zoodles, rice, or over quinoa for a heartier bowl. Optional add-ins include chili flakes, lemon juice, or fresh herbs. This dish is naturally dairy-free and paleo-friendly when made with olive oil. Perfect for meal prep or a quick protein-packed dinner.
