  • 2 to 3 tablespoons sugar or maple syrup Adjust to taste.
  • 1 tablespoon water or milk Use dairy or dairy-free options.
  • 1 large egg For a rich and silky texture.
  • 3 tablespoons chocolate chips Optional but recommended.
  • 1 pinch salt Enhances the chocolate flavor.

  • Grab a microwave-safe mug that holds at least 10 to 12 ounces.
  • Add cocoa powder, sugar, salt, and water or milk to the mug. Stir until smooth and glossy.
  • Crack in the egg and stir very well until there are no streaks.
  • If using, stir in chocolate chips.
  • Microwave for 30 seconds; then stir and microwave for another 20 to 30 seconds.
  • Let it sit for 2 minutes before eating, or chill for 10 minutes for a mousse-like texture.

Notes

If you want to skip the egg, consider alternative no-bake dessert options. Microwave times may vary; adjust accordingly for a creamy texture. Top with coconut whipped cream or berries if desired.
