  • 2 medium potatoes, peeled and grated
  • 1 large onion, grated
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp turmeric Adjust spices according to preference.
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • as desired Fresh herbs (like parsley or cilantro), finely chopped Add for flavor.
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs Can use gluten-free options.
  • as needed Oil for frying

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine ground meat, grated potatoes, grated onion, eggs, turmeric, cumin, salt, and pepper. Incorporate fresh herbs.

Shaping Cutlets

  • Use hands to form the mixture into oval or round patties about half an inch thick.

Coating

  • Roll each patty in breadcrumbs until well coated.

Cooking

  • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat and carefully add cutlets without overcrowding the pan.
  • Fry until golden brown on both sides, about 4-5 minutes per side.

Serving

  • Remove cutlets and place on paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot with rice or salad.

Notes

You can bake the cutlets at 375°F for a healthier option, about 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
