These Pear, Walnut, and Blue Cheese Bites are the perfect sweet-salty appetizer to celebrate fall. Naturally gluten-free, they combine juicy pears, creamy cheese, crunchy walnuts, and a drizzle of honey ideal for holiday tables or intimate dinners.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 ripe pears, sliced into ¼-inch rounds
  • 3 oz blue cheese, crumbled (or gorgonzola dolce)
  • 0.5 cup walnut halves, lightly toasted
  • 2 tsp honey or pomegranate molasses
  • fresh thyme leaves, for garnish
  • gluten-free crackers or cucumber rounds (optional, as base)

Instructions
 

  • Wash and dry your pears. Slice into ¼-inch rounds, then use a small cutter or knife to remove the core in each slice's center.
  • Add walnut halves to a dry skillet over medium heat. Toast for 2–3 minutes, stirring often, until they smell nutty. Set aside to cool.
  • Top each pear round with a chunk of blue cheese. Press a toasted walnut on top.
  • Drizzle each bite with honey or pomegranate molasses. Sprinkle with a pinch of thyme leaves. Serve immediately, or refrigerate for up to two hours.

Notes

Chill assembled bites for up to 2 hours before serving. For nut free versions, try pumpkin seeds or crispy shallots. Not into blue cheese? Goat cheese or whipped ricotta work beautifully too.
