Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 4 pieces salmon fillets (about 6 oz each), skin-on
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce For a gluten-free option, use tamari or coconut aminos.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Optional garnish: chopped parsley, lemon wedges, toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

Preheat and prep

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat for easy cleanup. Pat the salmon dry and season lightly with salt and pepper.

Make the glaze

  • In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, and smoked paprika. Taste and adjust: add a touch more lemon if you want brightness or an extra dash of soy for saltiness.

Glaze and rest

  • Place fillets on the prepared baking sheet skin-side down. Brush a generous layer of the honey garlic glaze over each piece, reserving a few teaspoons for basting mid-cook.

Roast

  • Roast the salmon in the preheated oven for 10–12 minutes, depending on thickness. For a browned top, broil on high for 1–2 minutes at the end, watching carefully to prevent burning.

Finish and serve

  • Remove salmon from the oven, brush with the remaining glaze, and let it rest for 2 minutes. Garnish with parsley, lemon wedges, and toasted sesame seeds if you like. Serve warm.

Notes

Use room-temperature salmon for even cooking. Patting the skin dry helps it crisp up in the oven. Test for doneness and ensure salmon should flake easily with a fork.
