  • 2 cups gluten-free all-purpose flour (make sure it contains xanthan gum)
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm water (about 110°F)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 whole egg (beaten, for egg wash)

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the gluten-free flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, garlic powder, and dried oregano.
  • Stir in the warm water and olive oil until a dough begins to form.
  • Dust a countertop with gluten-free flour, transfer the dough onto it, and divide into 6-8 equal portions, shaping each into a long stick.
  • Transfer the breadsticks to the prepared baking sheet and brush the tops with the beaten egg.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes until the tops are golden brown.
  • Allow the breadsticks to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Measure ingredients accurately. Use room temperature ingredients to help with texture. Experiment with seasonings for variations such as cheesy garlic or sweet cinnamon sugar.
