Hojicha Chia Pudding Gluten Free Recipe
sam
A delicious and healthy gluten-free hojicha chia pudding that combines the goodness of chia seeds with the unique, earthy flavor of roasted Japanese green tea (hojicha). Perfect for a satisfying breakfast or a light evening treat.
- Chia Seeds: 1/4 cup
- Plant-Based Milk: 1 cup (almond, oat, or coconut milk work well)
- Roasted Green Tea Powder: 1-2 teaspoons, to taste
- Maple Syrup or Honey: 1-2 tablespoons (adjust to your sweetness preference)
- Vanilla Extract: 1/2 teaspoon
- Pinch of Salt: Optional, enhances flavor
- Fresh Berries or Nuts: For topping (optional)
Step 1: Combine Dry Ingredients. In a medium bowl, whisk together the chia seeds and the roasted green tea powder. Ensure there are no clumps of powder.
Step 2: Add Wet Ingredients. Pour in the plant-based milk, maple syrup (or honey), and vanilla extract. Add a pinch of salt if desired.
Step 3: Mix Thoroughly. Stir everything well until all ingredients are fully combined. Scrape down the sides of the bowl.
Step 4: Refrigerate. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight. This allows the seeds to absorb the liquid and thicken.
Step 5: Stir and Serve. Before serving, give the pudding a good stir. If it's too thick, add a splash more milk. Garnish with your favorite toppings like fresh berries or nuts.
