Ingredients
  

For the Meatballs

  • 1 lb Ground meat (beef, turkey, or chicken) Choose your preferred type of meat
  • 1 large Egg Helps hold everything together
  • 1/2 cup Gluten free breadcrumbs Or crushed gluten-free crackers
  • 1/4 cup Grated onion or garlic Adds flavor without chunks
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Pepper
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning

For Assembly

  • 1 cup Marinara or pizza sauce For serving
  • 1 roll Gluten free crescent style dough Cut into thin strips for mummy wraps
  • 1/4 cup Sliced olives, peppercorns, or dairy-free sour cream For eyes

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Mix ground meat, egg, breadcrumbs, grated onion, and seasonings in a bowl.
  • Roll the mixture into meatballs about the size of a ping pong ball.

Cooking

  • Air fry the meatballs at 375°F for 9 to 12 minutes until cooked through.
  • Wrap each meatball in thin strips of dough and pop them back in the air fryer for 4 to 6 more minutes until the strips turn golden.
  • Add eyes to the meatballs at the end to maintain their position.

Notes

Wrap the dough strips loosely to ensure the mummy look stays intact. They can be baked instead of air-fried for larger batches, if desired.
