Ingredients

For the Hamburger Buns

  • 2 cups gluten-free all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet instant yeast (2¼ teaspoons)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 cup warm water (about 110°F or 43°C) Ensure the water is warm but not hot.
  • 2 large eggs Can substitute with flax eggs for a vegan option.
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • to taste sesame seeds or poppy seeds for topping Optional topping.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the gluten-free flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt. Whisk until evenly mixed.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the warm water, vinegar, eggs, and olive oil. Pour this mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until a smooth dough forms.
  • Using wet hands, form the dough into equal-sized buns (about the size of your palm) and place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between them.
  • Cover the buns with a clean kitchen towel and let them rise in a warm area for about 30 minutes, or until they have puffed up nicely.

Baking

  • Brush the tops of the buns with olive oil and sprinkle with sesame or poppy seeds, if desired.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the tops are golden brown.

Cooling and Serving

  • Once baked, let them cool on a wire rack. Enjoy your gluten-free hamburger buns fresh or toasted with your favorite burger fixings!

Notes

If the dough is too sticky, add a bit more flour as needed but avoid overdoing it. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
