Ingredients
  

For the Filling

  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 2 oz crab meat (canned or fresh, drained and shredded)
  • 2 green onions (thinly sliced)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce (make sure it’s gluten-free)
  • 1 package gluten-free wonton wrappers
  • Oil (for frying; choose your favorite type)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)

Instructions
 

Prepare the Filling

  • In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, crab meat, green onions, garlic powder, and soy sauce. Mix well until creamy and smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Assemble the Wontons

  • Lay out a few gluten-free wonton wrappers on a clean surface. Place about a teaspoon of the filling in the center of each wrapper.
  • Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, fold it over to create a triangle, and pinch the edges tightly to seal. Make sure there are no air pockets! Repeat this process until your filling is used up.

Fry the Crab Rangoon

  • In a deep frying pan, heat oil over medium heat. You will know it’s ready when you drop a small piece of wonton in and it sizzles!
  • Carefully add the Crab Rangoon a few at a time to avoid overcrowding. Fry until they are golden brown and crispy, usually about 2-3 minutes on each side.
  • Use a slotted spoon to remove them from the oil and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.

Serve Warm

  • Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce, such as sweet and sour sauce, soy sauce, or even sriracha for an extra kick.
