Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups gluten-free all-purpose flour Make sure it contains xanthan gum.
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon sugar Or a sugar substitute of your choice.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm water About 110°F.
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil Or melted coconut oil.
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 large egg Room temperature.

Optional for Serving

  • Butter or dairy-free spread For brushing on top.
  • Fresh herbs For added flavor.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the gluten-free flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the warm water, vegetable oil, apple cider vinegar, and room temperature egg. Blend these ingredients well.

Dough Formation

  • Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until a soft dough forms. The dough should be slightly sticky but manageable.
  • Lightly flour your work surface with gluten-free flour. Scoop out small portions of dough (about 2 tablespoons each) and shape them into balls. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, allowing some space between each roll.

Baking

  • Cover the rolls with a clean kitchen towel and let them rise for 30 minutes.
  • After the rolls have risen, place them in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes or until they turn golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and brush with butter or a dairy-free spread, if desired.
  • Serve these Easy Gluten-Free Rolls warm.

Notes

For best results, spoon the flour into the measuring cup and level it off with a knife. Ensure the warm water is not too hot to avoid killing the yeast. Vegan options are available by substituting the egg with applesauce or flaxseed.
