Ingredients
  

For the Dough

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour (gluten-free alternative if desired) Use as needed for consistency.
  • 1 packet instant yeast (about 2 ¼ teaspoons)
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm water (about 110°F or 43°C) Ensure the water is not too hot.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

For the Filling

  • 1 ½ cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup pizza sauce Store-bought or homemade.
  • ½ cup pepperoni (or your favorite halal meat or vegetable option)
  • ¼ cup sliced black olives (optional)
  • Other toppings (such as bell peppers or mushrooms) Customize as desired.

Instructions
 

Prepare the Dough

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Stir gently and allow it to sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  • Add the flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture. Stir until a dough forms.
  • Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.

Let the Dough Rise

  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.

Prepare the Filling

  • While the dough is rising, prepare your filling ingredients. Chop fresh veggies into small pieces if using.

Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

Shape the Pizza Bites

  • Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to about ½ inch thick.
  • Cut the dough into small circles, about 3-4 inches in diameter.
  • Place each circle into a greased muffin tin and gently press down to form a cup.

Fill with Toppings

  • Layer your pizza bites: first with a spoonful of pizza sauce, followed by a generous amount of mozzarella cheese, and any additional toppings you prefer.
  • Repeat for all the muffin cups.

Bake

  • Once filled, bake your Deep Dish Pizza Bites in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the dough is golden and the cheese is bubbling.

Cool and Serve

  • Allow the bites to cool for a few minutes before removing them from the muffin tin. Serve warm.

Notes
