Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 medium medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (coconut sugar for healthier option)
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 cooking spray or parchment paper (for baking)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 225°F (110°C).
  • Wash and dry the apples thoroughly.
  • Thinly slice the apples into rounds about 1/8 inch thick using a sharp knife or mandoline slicer.
  • In a small bowl, mix the ground cinnamon, sugar, and a pinch of salt.
  • Sprinkle the cinnamon mixture evenly over the apple slices, flipping and tossing to ensure all sides are coated.

Baking

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly spray with cooking spray.
  • Arrange the apple slices in a single layer on the baking sheet without overlapping.
  • Bake for about 1.5 to 2 hours, flipping the apple slices halfway through.

Cooling

  • Once golden brown and crispy, remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes.
  • Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before enjoying.

Notes

To ensure the best results, choose firm apples with a sweet-tart flavor for baking. Aim for uniform thickness when slicing for even cooking.
