  • 10 pieces chicken drumsticks
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper adjust to taste
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce choose your favorite brand or make homemade
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • optional Fresh parsley for garnish

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Rinse the chicken drumsticks under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
  • In a small bowl, combine garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Mix well.
  • Drizzle olive oil over the drumsticks and rub the spice mixture evenly onto the chicken.
  • Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper, and place a wire rack on top. Arrange the seasoned drumsticks on the rack.

Cooking

  • Bake the chicken drumsticks for 30 minutes.
  • Brush BBQ sauce generously over each drumstick, then return them to the oven for an additional 10-15 minutes or until caramelized.
  • Let them rest for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

For extra crispy skin, let the drumsticks sit in the fridge uncovered for 30 minutes before seasoning. Use a meat thermometer to ensure internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
