Ingredients

Dough Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted

Garnish

  • Fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder. Mix well.
  • Add in the shredded mozzarella cheese, and stir until evenly distributed.
  • Pour in the milk and melted butter, mixing until a dough forms.

Shaping

  • Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Knead gently for about a minute until smooth.
  • Roll the dough into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick. Slice into strips to form the breadsticks.

Baking

  • Place the breadsticks on a greased baking sheet, leaving space between each one.
  • Brush the tops with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic powder and additional mozzarella cheese if desired.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden and bubbly.

Serving

  • Remove the breadsticks from the oven and let them cool slightly.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve warm with marinara sauce or your favorite dip.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor. Avoid overworking the dough to keep the breadsticks tender. Experiment with toppings like herbs or additional cheese.
