Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup cottage cheese (preferably full-fat for richness) Quality cheese matters for better flavor and texture.
  • 1 cup self-rising flour Can substitute with homemade by mixing all-purpose flour with baking powder and salt.
  • a pinch salt (optional) Enhances flavor, but can be omitted.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the cottage cheese and self-rising flour. Mix until a soft, sticky dough forms, adding salt if desired.
  • Flour your hands and transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Shape it into a round or rectangular loaf.
  • Place the shaped loaf onto a lined baking sheet and optionally sprinkle with extra flour on top.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes or until firm and lightly browned. A toothpick inserted should come out clean.
  • Allow the bread to cool on a wire rack for a few minutes before slicing.
  • Enjoy warm with your favorite toppings!

Notes

Storage recommendations: Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, refrigerate for a week, or freeze slices for up to 3 months.
